Misty and Phil Baumann were honored at University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center on Sept. 21 for their work fundraising for brain cancer research.
Phil was diagnosed with an incurable form of brain cancer, glioblastoma multiforme, in September 201l,
Per tradition, the Atascocita residents also surprised Frederick Lang, a professor and director of clinical research in the Department of Neurosurgery at the cancer center, with a check from money raised through the annual fundraising event, CureFest. The $130,000 check was made out to brain cancer research and presented to Lang at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center’s observation deck.
